Natural Products for Cooking and Cleaning

Posted by ANCP

If you are interested in using natural products for a healthier lifestyle, you may like to know that there are some unique health products in the market that are not only suitable for cooking, but can also be used to help clean your house.

Not only can this help free up some space under your sink - it’s nice to know (especially if you have little ones around) with all the toxic chemicals in normal cleaning products, that these products are so safe they can be eaten!

Here are some of the products you can use for both cleaning and cooking:

Apple Cider Vinegar

If you mix ½ a cup of Apple cider vinegar with a cup of olive oil, you will prepare a perfect salad dressing that tastes great. On the other hand, mixing ½ cup of Apple Cider Vinegar with a cup of water creates a suitable product for cleaning that brings a shine to your household and can be used for a range of things from cleaning drinking glasses to making your toilet shine.

Baking Soda

You can use baking soda to leaven your dough when baking or as a powerful cleaning agent for removing grime and dirt. Use it to scrub counters, stovetops, bathroom sinks and showers. Baking soda can absorb odours and you can even sprinkle some baking soda on the carpets before you vacuum them to make them fresher.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has a relatively high smoke point of 230C, which makes it ideal for cooking. It also has several health benefits and a great taste. Alternatively, you can use the oil to polish your furniture by adding a little lemon juice to it. Rub the mixture on your furniture, and you will enjoy a sparkling new shine.

Essential Oils

You can add some essential oils to your foods such as lemon, coriander and lime essential oils. At the same time, you can use lemon and lavender essential oils among others to add a beautiful aroma when cleaning toilets, bath tubs and sinks. You may also help kill bacteria by diffusing some into the air.
