More and more people in Australia are suffering with chronic pain. Pain Australia reports this number to be about one in five people based on GP consultations, with about 5% of these reporting that it interferes with daily life. This includes joint pain, back and neck pain, headaches and menstrual pain. As such, many people are looking for relief from pain. Luckily nature has provided us with some specific plants and nutrients that can aid in pain relief and control and are available in the form of herbal and nutritional pain relief supplements.
Among some of the more popular of these supplements is Curcumin, which is the active constituent of the herb Turmeric. Curcumin has been shown to work on inhibiting inflammatory pathways which help to relieve pain, swelling and inflammation especially in relation to mild osteoarthritis, and as such it is becoming a more and more popular choice for assisting pain and inflammation, especially joint pain.
Where the pain is muscular in nature and involves cramping, such as leg cramps and menstrual pain and cramps, magnesium is the go to for relief. It has been shown to be beneficial in managing symptoms.
Magnesium has also been shown to help relieve mild migraine and headache symptoms, with the most commonly used form for this being Magnesium oxide, found in our Magnesium Plus.
