Taking Curcumin may help relieve symptoms of mild osteoarthritis including mild joint pain, inflammation and swelling. You might know turmeric as the bright yellow spice that adds colour to curries. The active compound in turmeric, known as curcumin, is increasingly used as a natural aid for inflammation. Curcumin is a natural anti-inflammatory and has antioxidant properties, which relieves inflammation and reduces free radical damage to body cells

Choosing the right curcumin formula

Regular curcumin on its own can be difficult to absorb, and in the past poor bioavailability meant you needed to take large doses to get therapeutic results. At ANC, we use MERIVA® — a proprietary and clinically trialled¹ form of curcumin extract, which contains a phospholipid complex utilising Phytosome® technology to enhance absorption and improve the bioavailability of curcumin.²

Doesn’t curcumin require black pepper for absorption?    It was once believed that black pepper was the only way to enhance curcumin absorption. While it does help, MERIVA®'s phospholipid technology mimics the effect of consuming curcumin with a fatty meal, which optimises absorption by stimulating bile acid secretion.

Each film coated tablet contains:

  • Curcumin 90 mg (from MERIVA® Curcumin phospholipid complex 500 mg)

Adults: Take one tablet twice daily with a meal or as advised by your healthcare professional.

In very rare cases, Curcumin may harm the liver. Stop use and see a doctor if you have yellowing skin/eyes or unusual: fatigue, nausea, appetite loss, abdominal pain, dark urine, or itching. Not suitable for children under 18 years. Contains 35mg of potassium per tablet. If you have kidney disease or are taking heart or blood pressure medicines, consult your doctor or pharmacist before use. If symptoms persist, talk to your health professional.
