Selenium is required for healthy thyroid and immune system function. It is also required for the healthy development and motility (mobility) of sperm.
Population nutrition surveys* show that around one in 10 people in Australia over 71 years don't obtain the estimated requirements of selenium from their diets. This may lead to suboptimal activity levels of antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase, which require selenium to maintain cellular health and function especially regarding combatting oxidative stress.
Our Selenium 150mcg contains Selenomethionine (stored in proteins), a highly bioavailable form of selenium that's more readily absorbed and retained than the inorganic form of selenium.

A daily dose of 150 micrograms for adults of selenium from dietary supplements should not be exceeded. Vitamins and minerals can only be of assistance if the dietary vitamin and mineral intake is inadequate. Advise your doctor of any medicine you take during pregnancy, particularly in your first trimester.
