Are you still working from home? Let’s check-in with your health & habits!

Posted by Vanessa Gagliardi

Many of us are still working from home and, perhaps for some, home is the new workspace from here on. Let’s do a quick check-in with your health and habits while working from home with these three simple reminders:

1. Have you been taking all your allocated breaks?

How easy is it to keep pushing through the workday and completely forget to take a break? Moving away from your workspace to take a break is helpful at preventing fatigue and importantly, supports your nervous system to avoid ‘burn out.’

Set yourself alarms to remind yourself to take your allocated breaks (and any other breaks you need) to recharge and move around a little.

On this topic, also remember to set your time boundaries – avoid working all hours of the day, and clock on and off at your regular work times for a healthy routine.

2. Did you remember to eat lunch?

Similarly to the point above, it can be easy to skip break times and, often meal times, too. Prioritise eating lunch while you are working from home to nourish your body with the fuel it requires to work at its best!

While you remember to eat lunch, why not organise a few snacks, like small containers of nuts and some chopped up fruit and veggies? Even simpler snacks to have on hand are tubs of yoghurt.

3. Where is your water bottle?

Do you have a water bottle (or two) on your desk? Remember to stay hydrated for best performance – dehydration can lead to fatigue and irritability, and no one wants to feel this way while trying to focus on their work.

It is these small, simple things like drinking enough water, eating regularly and taking breaks that support our physical and mental wellbeing every day.

Live Well. Every Day, with ANC!
